Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 12, 2026 · Last Updated: November 5, 2026
← Back to Reframed.NewsThis Privacy Policy explains how Skylark Creations LLC, 1500 N Grant St, Ste R, Denver, CO 80203 (“Skylark Creations,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the Reframed.News website, products, emails, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process through Reframed.News, including when you:
- visit reframed.news;
- create an account;
- subscribe to or receive our emails;
- interact with stories, dials, or settings;
- submit an article or link to our Reframe tool or browser extension;
- turn on browser notifications;
- contact us; or
- otherwise use the Service.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, publishers, platforms, or services that may be linked from the Service.
2. Personal information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
Depending on how you use Reframed.News, we may collect:
- email address — used for account creation, authentication, verification, and digest delivery;
- display name or signup metadata you choose to provide;
- sign-in details from Google or Apple, if you choose to sign in with one of them, such as the email address and name on that account;
- your reactions to stories, such as a thumbs up or down, a note, or your answer to whether a side’s read is fair;
- articles or links you submit to the Reframe tool or the browser extension, so we can analyze them;
- a push notification subscription, if you turn on notifications: an address issued by your browser’s push service and the keys needed to send to it;
- category preferences and other account settings;
- subscription preferences for daily or weekly digests;
- communications you send to us, including support requests and feedback; and
- payment-related account metadata such as a Stripe customer ID if we later activate paid features.
We do not intentionally collect payment card numbers ourselves. If paid features are activated, payment details will be handled by our payment processor.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we and our providers may automatically collect certain technical or usage information, such as:
- pages viewed;
- links clicked;
- stories opened;
- dial movements or frame interactions;
- referrer information and UTM parameters;
- browser type, device type, operating system, and general session data;
- diagnostics, crash reports, and error logs; and
- server, request, and security logs, which may include IP addresses or similar identifiers.
We do not use IP addresses ourselves for location profiling or ad targeting. Our servers use them for security and rate limiting, and, while a paid ad campaign is running, the advertising-measurement tags described in section 2.6 receive your browser’s IP address as part of any web request.
2.3 Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, functionality, and debugging.
Examples include:
- authentication cookies used by our auth provider;
- analytics cookies or identifiers used by Amplitude;
- while a paid ad campaign is running, Google Ads conversion cookies (such as
_gcl_aw) and the Meta pixel, used to measure our own advertising (see section 2.6); - local storage used to remember whether you dismissed UI tutorials; and
- technologies used to support security, session continuity, and product performance.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect login and core functionality.
2.4 Email analytics
Emails sent through our providers may include technologies that let us measure:
- whether an email was opened; and
- whether a link in the email was clicked.
We use this information to understand deliverability and engagement, improve email quality, and manage subscriptions.
2.5 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally request or collect the following through the Service:
- physical mailing address from users;
- phone number;
- demographic characteristics such as race or gender;
- contacts or address book data;
- precise geolocation;
- biometric data; or
- payment card details directly.
2.6 Advertising measurement
Only while we are running a paid ad campaign, our pages load measurement tags from Google Ads and Meta (Facebook). They tell Google and Meta when a page is viewed or someone signs up, so we can measure our own ads. During a campaign, when you sign up, we may also send Meta a one-way (SHA-256) hash of your email address so it can match the sign-up to an ad. When no campaign is running, these tags do not load and nothing is sent to Google Ads or Meta. We do not show third-party ads on Reframed.News.
3. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- send verification, transactional, operational, daily digest, weekly digest, and support emails;
- remember category and product preferences;
- provide, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
- measure usage and engagement;
- monitor reliability, security, and abuse;
- comply with law and enforce our terms;
- respond to support requests or other communications; and
- plan, test, and evaluate new features.
We do not use personal information to personalize AI-generated news content on an individual basis at this time. Generally, users see the same editorial content.
4. How AI processing works
Reframed.News uses AI models from Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (GPT models, image generation, and text embeddings) to help select, summarize, and write news content, including each story’s facts, the left and right reads, and story illustrations.
For the daily briefing, we send news content and editorial instructions to these AI providers. We do not intentionally include your email address or other account information in those requests.
If you use the Reframe tool or the browser extension, the article text or link you submit is sent to these AI providers for analysis, and a link you submit may be fetched through Firecrawl, a web-page retrieval service.
That said, if you contact us directly and we use AI tools internally to help analyze support or product feedback, we may process the information you provide for those operational purposes.
5. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)
Depending on where you live, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — for example, to create your account, authenticate you, or deliver the Service you request;
- Legitimate interests — such as operating, securing, improving, and analyzing the Service;
- Consent — where required by law, such as for certain email communications or certain analytics technologies;
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law; and
- Protection of rights and safety — when necessary to detect abuse, protect users, or enforce our policies.
6. How we disclose personal information
We do not sell your personal information. While a paid ad campaign is running, we send the advertising-measurement data described in section 2.6 to Google and Meta.
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
6.1 Service providers and processors
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us run Reframed.News, including providers for:

6.2 Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to:
- comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or lawful request;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of us, users, or others;
- detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or illegal activity; or

We may change providers over time. If we do, we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
8. Diagnostics and debugging
To diagnose issues and improve the Service, our monitoring tools collect error reports and technical metadata, such as the page, the browser, and the code path that failed. Session replay is not currently enabled.
We use these tools for debugging, performance monitoring, and reliability — not for advertising.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
In general:
- account information is retained until your account is deleted or no longer needed for business or legal purposes;
- subscription preferences and unsubscribe records are retained as needed to honor your choices and maintain compliance;
- email delivery and engagement records may be retained according to our provider settings and compliance needs;
- analytics records may be retained according to provider retention settings;
- diagnostic and error-monitoring data may be retained according to provider retention settings; and
- news content and historical digest records may be retained as part of the product archive.
Unsubscribing from emails does not by itself delete your account.
10. Your choices and rights
10.1 Account and email choices
You can:
- update certain account settings through the Service, where available;
- unsubscribe from digest emails through the unsubscribe link in the email;
- contact us to request account deletion or support.

- request deletion of personal information;
- request portability of certain personal information;

10.3 California notice
If California privacy law applies to you, you may have rights including the right to know, access, correct, delete, and receive information about how we process personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
We do not sell personal information. While a paid ad campaign is running, the advertising-measurement data described in section 2.6 is sent to Google and Meta.
10.4 International users
If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please use a strong password, protect your account credentials, and notify us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
12. Children’s privacy
Reframed.News is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information to us, contact us at hello@reframed.news, and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete the information where required.
13. Third-party publishers and source material
Reframed.News links to third-party publishers and sources. When you click through to a source article, that publisher’s privacy policy and terms apply to your visit.
We are not responsible for the privacy or data practices of third-party publishers or sites.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the Service and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
