Pentagon Inspector General Reports Munitions Shortfalls and Damage From Iran War

A nation's munitions stockpile is its sovereignty in physical form, and Epic Fury has been spending that down faster than America can rebuild it — $22.3 billion in expended munitions alone, leaving strategic inventory shortfalls behind. That would be tolerable if the arsenal could be refilled, but the report finds industrial-base bottlenecks blocking replenishment, so every round fired is a capability we cannot simply buy back. Meanwhile Iranian strikes have damaged hundreds of our buildings, aircraft and bases. Self-reliance is the asset here. An operation that consumes it faster than we can replace it should be wound down, not sustained.
