Four Jewish community ambulances burned outside London synagogue, police treat case as antisemitic hate crime

- Four ambulances belonging to a Jewish community emergency service were set on fire in Golders Green, in north London, near a synagogue.
- London police are treating the incident as an antisemitic hate crime and counterterrorism police are leading the investigation.
- Police said the fire broke out around 1:45 a.m. local time on Monday.
- Authorities said no injuries were reported in the attack.
- Fire crews responded with about 40 firefighters and six fire engines, and the blaze was brought under control around 3 a.m.
- Explosions from gas cylinders in the ambulances damaged windows in a nearby building, and some nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
- Police said they were searching for three suspects and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
- The UK government said it arranged replacement ambulances on loan from the London Ambulance Service and would cover the cost of replacing the destroyed vehicles.
