How was the research conducted, and who produced it?
The study drew on nationally representative surveys of about 21,000 internet-using children aged 12 to 17, collected between 2020 and 2025 across 21 countries including Kenya, Pakistan, Brazil and Serbia ThePrint,Deutsche Welle. It also included in-depth interviews with 100 young people who experienced abuse in childhood Thaiger. The report was produced under the Disrupting Harm project, which UNICEF runs with ECPAT International and INTERPOL, and UNICEF describes it as one of the largest studies of its kind Next Web,EL PAÍS.
